Peace Teams with OL Library to Bring Art to All

Burbank, IL – January 14, 2008 – During the month of January, Queen of Peace High School art students will exhibit their work at the Oak Lawn Library, 9427 S. Raymond Avenue in Oak Lawn. Featured works in the exhibit include a 12-inch bust of a woman sculpted entirely in white chocolate as well as original prints and works in watercolor and oil.

Student artists represented are: Alyssia Guzman, Theresa Kilcommons, Ariana Walls, Allison Wolfer, Alejandra Abaunza, Amanda Haynes, Katie Fudacz, Dorota Murzydlo, Veronica Eskra, Shannon Majka, Lauren Vitrano, Elizabeth Famera, Brianna Zach, Jessica Amaro, Tiara Crusoe, Bianca Velazquez, Esmeralda Sahagun, Alicia Maderak, Veronica Nevarez, Justine Villar, Agnes Usejnoski, Brittany Gibson, Laila Sadat and Jillian Lipman.

The new gallery in the library features a glass case, walls space requiring frames, and free-standing space for mounted pieces. In order to showcase the thematic connections between student work and the instructor’s, Peace art teacher Linda Vorderer also has included some of her own professional works. The exhibit will be on display at the Oak Lawn Library until the end of January. Pictured here are samples of the pieces on display: a self-portrait by senior Veronica Eskra and a 12-inch bust of a woman sculpted entirely in white chocolate by Peace instructor Linda Vorderer.
