Be a Success at Peace
The Most Important Thing: The Real You!
We encourage you to find the classes, clubs, sports, or experiences that you like the most. The teachers at Peace will support you and your efforts so you don’t have to be afraid to let the “real” you shine through! If you have an idea for a club, all you have to do is talk to a teacher and, together, it can become a reality.
In high school, time management is key. You will learn how to juggle classes, practice for your band concert, run lines for your drama class, go to your team practice, and still have time for homework and fun! This time-management skill will help you finish your tasks at school and at home.
Be a Study Pro
- Find a comfortable space - a place where there is no clutter and the temperature feels just right!
- Turn off all distractions like the TV, radio, MP3 player, and IPOD.
- Read all the headings of your assignment first and then organize your notes the same way.
- Use your highlighter to color only the key points. Remember, don’t highlight everything or you will have a hard time finding what is important when you go to study for the test.
- Don’t cram! Just like the tortoise, slow and steady wins the race. If you know a test is coming, start studying early. Re-reading the material two weeks prior to the exam for 20 minutes each day will help you get the grade you’re looking for.
