Two girls. Same grammar school. Two very different reasons for choosing Peace. No matter what you’re interested in, once you start with Peace, you are sure to find exactly what you’re looking for and so much more. With more academic course offerings and club activities than other south suburban high schools, Queen of Peace wants you to lead the student council, take charge on the softball team, and steal the spotlight in the Peace Theatre Company’s next production. Now, let’s meet two frosh students and see what led them to Peace.

My name is Katie, and I am a Queen of Peace frosh this year. I chose Queen of Peace for lots of reasons. First of all, my mom went here. When she told me of all the great times and all the friends she made, I had to find out for myself. Meeting people was not a problem at Peace. My favorite thing is that you can be you, and people will welcome, encourage, and accept you. The point is that everyone recognizes you as an individual: someone who is believed in and supported every step of the way.

Second, they are giving me the chance to try out for volleyball, basketball, and softball. I have grown up playing these sports and, when I found out I could possibly play, I was sold.

I also wanted to keep going to a Catholic school for my studies, and Queen of Peace covered that too, plus a lot more. I could tell from the Open Houses and shadowing that Queen of Peace was just a perfect fit for me.

In the beginning of my eighth grade year, I had four high schools to choose among. I knew I wanted to go to a school that would have friendly people, a great curriculum, smaller class sizes, and an environment that I would be proud to call my second home. I found all of those things at Queen of Peace. Peace is the best school for me because I love the all-girls setting. Peace’s academic record is one of the greatest, and they have one of the best technology programs that I’ve ever seen. This school also has fun clubs and sports teams that I got involved in right away!  Now in my frosh year, I’m really glad I started with Peace. It was definitely the best choice for me!
