Peace Players Charm Audience with this Seasonal Classic

Burbank, IL – November 19, 2007 – After three months of auditioning, rehearsing, building, painting, and setting each scene, Peace Theatre Players took to the stage on Nov. 8 for opening night of Little Women, a double-cast seasonal classic dramatized by Kristen Laurence and based on the book by Louisa May Alcott. When the curtain parted and the buzz of the audience hushed, Peace Theatre Players dazzled and charmed the audience in this coming-of-age story about a close-knit group of sisters.
With the recent observance of Veterans’ Day and at a time when the global community must reflect so often on the ways that soldiers and their families are touched by war, director Anna MG Reynes chose to produce a piece of classic theatre that resonated with today’s issues.
The March sisters – Meg played by Emily Straple and Mollie Heath, Jo played by Jessica Koetzle and Emily Nelson, Beth played by Bobbi Benegas and Amy played by Lisa Bianchi – grow up during and after the Civil War. While their father is away serving in the war, the March family is faced with major and minor problems as they confront relationship issues. With the guidance of their strong-willed mother, they share laughter, tears, and comical moments with each other and the audience.
