WGN Anchor to Emcee Largest Peace Fundraiser

Burbank, IL – March 17, 2008 – On April 11, Peace alumna ’86 and WGN Morning News Anchor Robin Baumgarten will serve as the honorary chair and master of ceremonies at Queen of Peace High School’s 5th Annual Mazzuchelli Scholarship Benefit. Join Baumgarten and friends as Peace’s Board of Directors host the dinner auction at the Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook. The Mazzuchelli Scholarship event – Buona Sera, A Good Night for a Great Benefit – is the school’s largest annual academic scholarship and financial-aid fundraiser for students.

Since its inception four years ago, Buona Sera has raised more than $160,000 in scholarship dollars. This year, Queen of Peace granted $212,400 in direct academic scholarships and tuition assistance to 191 students and was able to assist an additional 43 students by partnering with outside sources.

Limited monetary aid has been available, but with an increase of students who need help, Peace seeks to provide more substantial support.

The auction is a shopper’s paradise, featuring many one-of-a-kind treasures. This year’s affair includes hors d’oeuvres, a grand buffet and sweet table, live entertainment and valet parking for only $125 per person. The benefit will be held at the Hyatt Lodge at McDonald’s Campus in Oak Brook from 6 to 10 p.m.

Peace invites you to become part of this year’s event. To show support, individuals and businesses can sponsor a table and/or purchase event tickets. To find out more, call 708.458.7600, ext. 250 or visit www.peaceleads.info. Sponsorship brochures can be downloaded at the above address.
