The Peace Educational Experience
Young women will benefit from a broad and rich selection of rigorous college prep and innovative elective courses that utilize advanced teaching methods and technologies. Peace offers a personalized curriculum of seven instructional 50-minute class periods per day in which students and faculty work collaboratively to achieve individual and shared success.

College Prep Courses
A robust college prep program, including nearly 100 academic course offerings, 11 Advanced Placement classes, seven dual enrollment courses, two virtual classroom courses, enhanced math, science and art programs and three world languages. Mandarin Chinese is offered via videoconferencing in the Peace Media Center.

Technology Integration
21st Century technology tools include individual laptops, wireless campus with online courses, classroom projectors and videoconferencing, which allow students to conduct multimedia presentations, web quest learning, in-depth research and connect to the global community.

Fine Arts
A wide selection that enhances experiences in art, dance, digital arts and drama. Peace also offers Arts Without Borders, a fine arts enrichment program that includes 16 cultural experiences over four years through professional fine and performing arts trips.

Exciting Electives
Peace electives include art studio, biotechnology, business entrepreneurship, computer repair, digital photgraphy, pre-engineering and robotics. View a complete list.

Faith and Service
Christian Living courses encompass Peace and Justice, Personal Morality, Scripture and World Religions. Peace students reflect during class retreats and all-school liturgies and participate in meaningful leadership and community service opportunities.

Activities and Clubs
Peace offers an exciting array of activities that develop self-confidence, social skills and a sense of purpose. With over 40 options, young women will have numerous opportunities to explore her interests and make friends. View a complete list.

Athletics
Peace Pride athletes compete in the most challenging division of the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) - the Red Division. Sports options include basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

21st Century Leadership and Innovation

1:1 wireless laptop program  integrates technology into each facet of the curriculum since the 2007-08 school year.Supporting our 1:1 initiative, Peace implemented the Technology Maintenance Center (TMC) allowing students and faculty access to onsite software and hardware support provided by a certified repair technician, help desk personnel and technology director. Program integration includes wireless projection connection, printing "green" initiatives, e-mail communications and homework drop box capabilities.

The Infinity Project is the first nationally recognized pre-engineering program at an Illinois all-girls school. With the 1:1 wireless environment, students can take math and science to a deeper level as they design new technologies that focus on the Internet, cell phones, electronic music, digital video and movie effects.

  • Strong science curriculum  offers frosh in the Class of 2014 biology as their first science course.

  • Transferable College credit  is obtained through a dual enrollment option with Moraine Valley Community College. If students earn an A or B in the designated course, they will receive college credit. Upon graduation, students transfer this credit to more than 100 participating universities and colleges. Students are not required to attend MVCC.

  • 11 Advanced Placement courses offer students the opportunity for college credit with rigorous class preparation and testing.

  • Interdisciplinary courses connect in-class learning with the real world through a team-taught environment. Courses include Global Studies (History and English), American Studies (History and English) and Women's Studies (Psychology and Literature).

  • Leadership skills  are learned in 40+ clubs, as well as 9 sports.

  • Student Portfolio Program  empowers all students to chart their progress over their four years and reflect on their growth as scholars.

St. Catherine of Siena Scholars include young women with a GPA of 3.8 or higher who were accepted into the program. Students choose a research topic and work with adult mentors to present their findings at the Catherine Congress their senior year.

Hands-on technology coursework  is implemented through unique electives, such as Computer Repair. With Peace's 21st Century learning, students participate in virtual field trips, Illinois Virtual High School courses, test scientific theories and become members of the global community through our Interactive Videoconferencing Center(IVC). The Peace student becomes a global citizen.
