Unrestricted gifts of every size support general operating needs for Queen of Peace High School. These donations enhance and sustain programs without the need for tuition increases that would further burden families.
Scholarship Appeal
The Scholarship Fund supports academic awards for talented students and financial aid grants for students whose families are undergoing financial hardship due to social and economic challenges, such as job loss.
Matching Gifts - Check for Matching Gift Programs
You can literally double or triple the value of your gift to Peace, if you are employed by one of the many companies or their divisions, subsidiaries or affiliates that offer matching programs. In fact, a great number of employers will match contributions of spouses, directors or retirees as well as those of employees.

Planned Giving Opportunities
By name Peace as a beneficiary in your will, trust, life insurance policy or retirement account, you can continue to make a difference for future generations of Peace students in a way that supports your personal financial and philanthropic interests. Always check with your attorney, accountant, and/or tax advisor for additional information on how the following general guidelines apply to your situation before making your gift decision.
Bequests
Create your legacy by making a gift in your will to Peace. Bequests may not be subject to estate taxes and will help reduce tax liability for your heirs. There are several types of bequests, any of which may reduce the percentage of tax owed on the remainder of your estate. With a general bequest, you provide a specified dollar amount to Peace. With a specific bequest, you designate certain asset items. A residuary bequest allows you to assign a certain percentage of your estate to Peace and helps ensure each beneficiary receives a constant proportion even though changes may occur in the size of the estate.
Life Insurance Policies
You can create a legacy by purchasing a new life insurance policy or donating a policy that you currently own but no longer need. To receive a deduction, designate Peace as both the owner and beneficiary of the life insurance policy. Check with your insurance agent for details.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
You can use your will to establish a charitable trust that uses a specified amount of your estate to provide life income to one or more beneficiaries. Donating a residence, vacation home or farm to Peace allows you to enjoy using the property for the rest of your life while providing a current tax deduction. Peace would receive the principal that remains after all beneficiaries have passed away.
Charitable Lead Trusts
With a charitable lead trust, you can place assets in a trust, assign the income to Peace for a certain time and have ownership of the assets later returned to you or be passed on to your named beneficiary.
Donor-Advised Funds
You can establish a donor-advised fund through a public charitable foundation that allows you to designate Peace as a recipient of the proceeds generated by the fund.
We will work with you to establish a gift that best meets your needs and provides for your financial and estate tax objectives. Please note these are general guidelines and we encourage you to consult your attorney and/or financial advisor to make certain your gift will be in accordance with your best interests and state and federal regulations.
Outright Giving Information
In-Kind Gifts
Your in-kind donations of supplies for school activities, events and furnishings are deeply appreciated. Your support reduces operating expenses. Donations of product of merchandise to events help maximize net return on Peace fund-raising events.
Gifts of Stock, Bonds and Mutual Funds
Gifts of appreciated financial investments can be tax deductible up to a maximum of 30 percent of your adjusted gross income. These gifts allow you to avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation and provide an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the investment at the time of the gift.
Gifts of Personal Property
A gift of real estate can also be tax-wise. A residence, vacation home, farm, acreage or vacant lot may have so appreciated in value through the years that its sale would create a sizeable capital gains tax. By making a gift of property instead, you would avoid capital gains tax, and, at the same time, receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property.
